Planning For the Future, Today
Life Guidance Service’s Wellness and Prevention programs reach children before trouble reaches them. Each year, more than 100 high school students volunteer to teach prevention lessons to fifth and sixth graders throughout Montcalm County. These high school role models carry a powerful message when they talk about choosing to be drug-free. It is a practice of the program to get younger students to make a pledge to not use alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs. That pledge gets significant buy in from the students. One volunteer said “I love helping the younger kids learn how to make good decisions.”
